STORYTELLING

One day a young Spanish couple asked me to organize their wedding: they didn’t really know what style to chose, all they knew was that they wanted their guests to wear 1700’s style costumes.

They asked me for a symbolic wedding so both the ceremony and the party could be organized in the same place. I suggested a very exclusive Venetian venue, with large halls in an artistic and historical contest.

We hired a local taylor who styles and sews 1700’s costumes: he prepared some 50 costumes for women and men, which the guests could either rent or purchase.

During the dinner, a pianist, a violist and a soprano entertained the guests. The atmosphere was magical: the colours, the candles, the music…

The hall didn’t need to be decorated as its walls were embellished by frescoes: the only extra decorations were some candleholders, and blue and violet lights combined with brown branches and red roses.
The centrepiece was a little golden tree decorated with pearl necklaces, fresh fruit, yellow tulips and red peonies.
It seemed to live in a past era…but it was just another Venetian wedding!
